16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

1) Five ways in which I believe I have human capital that is unique:

    1. Problem Solving - Over the years I have spent working in a fast pace manufacturing industry, there are so many variables to everyday problems that I have been able to put my problem solving skills to great use and by doing so, I have also been able to get better at it. This encompasses all kind of simple fix solutions to situations that are very complex, data driven and if done correctly can save the company a great amount on money.
    2. Determination - In my opinion, a key element in life. Nobody has gone far in life, whether in sport, business, or anything without determination. Even though I might get tired or even discouraged sometimes, it is almost rare for me to give up on something I believe.
    3. Consistency - I am a very methodical person. The reason behind me being methodical is very simple. I don't like wasting time. Therefore, by being methodical, I spend "my energy" on things that really matter everyday and not on things that can be implemented into a routine. This is the same principle applied by many success business people such as Mark Zuckerberg and former President Barack Obama (more on that here https://medium.com/startup-grind/choice-minimalism-why-mark-zuckerberg-wears-the-same-thing-every-day-2f132f1b5706)
    4. Honesty - I am a very honest person, and this goes to all aspects of my life. Whether at work, school, relationships, etc. I do not say things just to please people. If you want to hear an honest answer to something, I will be glad to help, however, if you want someone to just to boost your own ego by agreeing with you when you are wrong, I am not the right person for that job.
    5. Fair - It is kind of hard to make a claim about yourself for you own fairness, simply because nobody would label themselves as someone that is not fair. Nevertheless, I have a strong need for things being fair. I will not take advantage of you (or anybody for that matter) and I also expected to not be taken advantage of by anybody.

  1. Hi Arthur,

As soon as I started to read your post I immediately noticed the similarities between our posts. I think we share many of the same personality attributes which are key for entrepreneurs. I also would not change any of the things I listed for part 1. My initial characteristics I came up with also matched what I was told in the interviews which is good because self-awareness is important!

  2. Hi Arthur,
The human capitals that you’ve listed are very essential for everybody and are great to have, especially as an entrepreneur. It’s interesting to see that others see you the way you see yourself, as I did when I did this assignment. I think it’s great that we are now mindful of how we come across to others. Great post!
