Solution to Selected Opportunity
The opportunity I selected is the opportunity mentioned in the post "7A", regarding the expensive cost of speech therapy for children.
Product/Service
The idea is to offer a combination of a product and service. The product/service will be the web and mobile application where parents who have children with speech therapy needs can receive their evaluation online and chose to either take their children to a clinic to receive therapy, do the therapy themselves or a combination of both.
Additionally, parents who have children that do not need speech therapy could also use this application to further develop their children cognitive and communication skills.

ReplyDeleteI understand where you are coming from completely. Our youngest daughter went through speech therapy for her first few years of school and it didn't seem like it was taken to seriously by the schools. Obviously like every other medical process in the U.S, speech therapy can be very expensive. My wife and I spent a lot of time ourselves working with our daughter and she has been doing really well for the last decade. There are some hiccups with her "R's" but that is about it. I like the idea of the web and mobile app and I think that is the future.

ReplyDeleteI think making this program a mobile app is a wonderful idea. Young kids today love playing on tablets and phones so if you were able to make it like a game parents would have no problems getting their kids to play it. I think you could have some course work but add review or practice activities that are game like to help keep the kids interested.
