2A – Bug List

The Bug List

1) When at a Subway restaurant, the employee who was cleaning the floor with a broom or wiping the counter does not wash their hands before starting to make your sandwich.
Why: This bug exists possibly due to lack of SOP (standard operating procedures) training or lack or supervision to ensure employees comply with hygiene training.

2) When driving in the middle lane of a highway at speed at maximum speed limit, a driver is behind you blinking his headlights because he/she wants you to move over.
Why: This bug exists due to lack of: responsibility, knowledge of driving regulations and at the end of the day also a "bit" of intelligence since the left lane is open for him/her to fly as fast as they desire

3) When at the gym people don't clean the equipment they just used and leave their sweat all over it
Why: It exists due to lack of consideration for other people who will use the machine after them

4) When at the gym people put their bag in one machine, gloves/keys in another while working out in yet another machine.
Why: It exists due to lack of consideration for other people at the gym who also want to use the machine.

5) When going through a drive-through, the restaurant attendant gets mad with the customer who has not yet decided what to purchase.
Why: Some drive-through restaurants already have multiple screens for customers to pick from. Meaning that while the customer is sitting in their car (in-line) they can already look at the menu and pick what they want, however in location where the display is only in front of the speaker, it delays the drive-through process.

6) When in a drive-through the customer cannot hear the attendant from the restaurant.
Why: Possibly cause by a defected speaker that has not yet been replaced.

7) When making a right turn on a red light, getting biped at for stopping for 3 seconds as the law requires.
Why: Cause by people  lack of ability to remember their driving test and law requirements in the state of Florida.

8) Not being able to mute notifications for an assignment in Canvas and receiving hundreds of messages on a assignment which you have already completed.
Why: Lack of technological improvements.

9) When at work, people that do not know how to properly express themselves via email and because of that, one must reply asking from clarification which would not be needed if the initial email had been properly written.
Why: Lack of written communication training in the workplace.

10) Not being able to save downloaded videos lectures on smartphone, inside the Mediasite app. (Basically missing the "Download" option Netflix and Lynda.com have for smartphones).
Why: Possibly because not enough people have requested.

11) When you spend a lot of time organizing a whole system to track orders at your job and your boss does not follow a pattern entering information into the system and end up invalidation weeks of work done
Why: Lack of planning and communication in the workplace

12)  When you spend hundreds of dollars buying books for college and cannot sell them in the following semester since the same books now have a newer edition and the professors requested the newer edition in class.
Why: Because college book publishers make tons of money every semester by having contracts with Universities and forcing students into buying new books every semester

13) Not having a Subway (restaurant) drive-through.
Why: It would possibly take too long to make the sandwiches.

14) How teenagers are socially awkward given their lack of face-to-face interaction with other human beins
Why: They spend to much time on social media and end up being socially awkward.

15) When you do a kind gesture of helping a friend with their homework or project and they do not even thank you for it
Why: Lack of consideration or and respect for that friend.

16) When ordering steak to be cooked medium-well and it is brought to you completely burned
Why: Lack of communication between server and cooking chef or a result of chef being overwhelmed with the amount of dished to be made and not being able to pay close attention to the doneness of each steak.

17) When you make an appointment at the Bank of America at 1:30pm and they make you wait until 2:00pm to assist you
Why: Not properly calculating/scheduling customer appointments

18) When Spectrum (internet service provider) says that you promotional period has ended and your internet bill will go up. For two consecutive years (increased $20/month in the first years and an additional $20/month on the second year) when your contract said that there was only a 1 year promotional period.
Why: Because since Spectrum makes customers sign a contract that has a clause in which the customer agrees to not sue the company, Spectrum does whatever they want.

19) When you drive 2 hours from Orlando to Tampa to go to Bush Gardens, only to arrive and find out that the whole theme park shuts down when there is a slight possibility of rain miles away.
Why: The park does not offer anything that can stay open if it rains and poor planing for shutting down everything when rain is not even close to the park yet.

20) When you prepare a nice dinner for your wife only to find out she will have to stay longer at work
Why: Poor communication at work and poor planning on work schedule

Reflection: Writing this assignment required a few days. I basically identified five bugs at a time. Being a perfectionist, there are multiple things that bug me, however since I do not take note of them, remembering them at once can be a bit difficult. Overall it was not easy to write these twenty bugs and also write why do they exist.
